COVID-19 Update 23 June 2020

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

As you will have seen today there has been another update from the government on relieving of the COVID-19 lockdown measures. As many of you will have noticed driving instructions has not been mentioned. This means that there is still no clear plan of when regular driving lessons can begin again for pupils. I have been in contact with my pupils as regularly as I can, hopefully without being too annoying, and they will know that I am prepared to go again as soon as I have the say so.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak I have followed all government guidance to help keep my pupils, their families, and my family as safe as possible. I will as always continue to do this. I am hoping for an update soon from DVSA with a plan of when and how instruction can begin again. As soon as I have this I will as always share the details with my pupils. I really hope to be back on the roads again soon and will be when the time is right.

For now, the latest information remains unchanged from when Gareth Llewellyn the Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency sent his last email which said:

“Driving instruction and tests will only restart when the government is confident that the assessment of risk warrants it, subject to the 5 tests and further detailed scientific advice.

In the meantime, I want to re-emphasise that you should continue to limit driving lessons to critical workers who are preparing for an emergency driving test.”

I really hope to see you all again. If any of my pupils have any questions or want help with theory etc then please do not hesitate to get in contact. I will help as much as I can.
