COVID-19 Update 11 May 2020

Yesterday the government made their announcement on what they envisage the time frame of lifting the lockdown restrictions will look like. There has not yet been clear guidance on what this means for Driving Instructors. Hopefully, there will be some clear clarification from the DVSA soon. As you will be aware 2 metres distance is impossible for me to maintain whilst teaching my pupils how to drive.

As soon as more relevant guidance is released for driver training, I will contact all of my current learner drivers, I will also put an update on here. All of my current pupils will have first priority when it comes to booking slots before I open my diary up to others if there is room.

I feel my industry is going to be very much guided by when the driving test examiners return to work, when driving tests began to run and what safety measures are implemented by the DVSA.

The safety of you, your families and my family is incredibly important to me. So, I want to make sure that when I can return to doing the job that I love that I do it in a way that ensures that everyone is safe. Thank you to all of my pupils for being so understanding in what has been a very unsettling time. Please rest assured that I will continue to update you when I have new information.
